Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 2.83% or 0.62 points to trade at 22.50 at the close. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) added 1.53% or 0.54 points to end at 35.92 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) was up 1.51% or 0.60 points to 40.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 0.05% or 0.040 points to trade at 82.300 in late trade. Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) declined 0.03% or 0.02 points to end at 74.38 and Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) gained 0.06% or 0.03 points to 47.88.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 32 and 7 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.16% to 12.48.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.49% or 0.36 to $73.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.01% or 0.78 to hit $77.89 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.39% or 4.90 to trade at $1260.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1745, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.8882.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.84.
