Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 4.07% or 0.88 points to trade at 22.55 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 2.73% or 0.063 points to end at 2.367 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was up 1.98% or 0.72 points to 37.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 0.80% or 0.03 points to trade at 3.35 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 0.63% or 0.155 points to end at 24.485 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 0.32% or 0.07 points to 22.13.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 78 to 48 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 8.46% to 14.31.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.14% or 0.10 to $73.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $77.28 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.06% or 13.20 to trade at $1254.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.1646, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8845.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 94.44.
