Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.54% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 4.12% or 3.400 points to trade at 85.960 at the close. NN Group NV (AS:NN) added 1.77% or 0.68 points to end at 39.20 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) was up 1.62% or 0.67 points to 41.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 7.25% or 0.62 points to trade at 7.90 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 2.37% or 0.715 points to end at 29.515 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) shed 0.64% or 1.25 points to 193.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 79 to 34 and 19 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.05% to 11.80.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.88% or 0.63 to $72.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.42% or 0.33 to hit $78.84 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 2.90 to trade at $1288.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1768, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8777.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.62.
