Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 2.49% or 4.00 points to trade at 164.90 at the close. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) added 1.12% or 0.44 points to end at 39.67 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) was up 1.05% or 0.96 points to 92.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 1.92% or 0.380 points to trade at 19.370 in late trade. Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) declined 1.27% or 1.02 points to end at 79.52 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) shed 1.25% or 0.03 points to 2.29.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 75 to 56 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.45% to 12.14.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.01% or 1.47 to $74.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.91% or 1.58 to hit $84.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 2.70 to trade at $1193.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1573, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8875.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 94.94.
