Investing.com -- Stocks traded lower on Thursday as investors awaited the government's jobs report for September. Here are the market movers for Oct. 6:

Shell PLC ADR (NYSE:SHEL) shares fell 3.9% after the oil major said third-quarter results would be affected by lower profit from natural gas trading. It's also seeing higher costs to deliver fuel.

Peloton Interactive Inc (NASDAQ:PTON) shares rose 4% after the exercise bike maker said it will cut another 500 jobs as it attempts a business turnaround.

Constellation Brands Inc (NYSE:STZ) shares fell 1.2% after the spirits company beat expectations for profit and revenue. It did decide to sell some wine operations to California-based Wine Group.

General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) shares fell 1.7% after it said it was shedding about 20% of its onshore wind workers, which could amount to hundreds of jobs.

Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) shares fell 0.2% after the e-commerce giant said it would hire 150,000 seasonal workers, about the same number of people it hired last holiday season.
