Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA), which rose 2.36% or 0.77 points to trade at 33.33 at the close. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO) added 2.31% or 1.00 points to end at 44.25 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) was up 2.30% or 0.60 points to 26.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL), which lost 2.23% or 3.45 points to trade at 151.28 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) declined 1.99% or 0.23 points to end at 11.30 and GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) shed 1.59% or 3.02 points to 187.09.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 39 and 18 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.72% or 19.30 to $2,691.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.21% or 0.89 to hit $74.21 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.35% or 1.03 to trade at $77.19 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.70% to 20.51, while EUR/MXN rose 0.53% to 21.13.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 109.00.
