Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Relapasa (LM:REL), which rose 6.25% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.170 at the close. Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) added 3.19% or 0.150 points to end at 4.850 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) was up 2.56% or 0.500 points to 20.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atacocha (LM:ATB), which lost 6.82% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.205 in late trade. Milpo (LM:MIL) declined 4.23% or 0.080 points to end at 1.810 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) shed 4.19% or 0.250 points to 5.720.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 9 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 4.35% or 1.65 to $36.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 3.55% or 1.45 to hit $39.39 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.15% or 1.90 to trade at $1262.10 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.07% to 3.4531, while EUR/PEN rose 0.42% to 3.8021.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 97.18.
