Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 4.22% or 1.89 points to trade at 46.69 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 1.54% or 0.95 points to end at 62.65 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was up 0.53% or 0.15 points to 28.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which lost 3.38% or 0.18 points to trade at 5.15 in late trade. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) declined 3.36% or 2.64 points to end at 75.87 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) shed 3.15% or 2.09 points to 64.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 315 to 223 and 172 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 3.76% or 1.71 to $47.21 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 3.50% or 1.68 to hit $49.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.55% or 7.45 to trade at $1341.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.03% to 4.3208, while USD/PLN fell 0.10% to 3.8394.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 95.04.
