U.S. stocks traded lower, with the Nasdaq Composite falling around 100 points on Thursday. Here are some big stocks recording gains in today’s session.
- Orchard Therapeutics plc (NASDAQ: ORTX) shares surged 97.7% to $15.98 after the company agreed to be acquired by Japan's Kyowa Kirin for $16.00 per ADS in cash plus an additional contingent value right of $1.00 per ADS.
- SP Plus Corporation (NASDAQ: SP) shares jumped 47.5% to $52.24 after Metropolis Technologies announced it will acquire the company for $1.5 billion.
- Euronav NV (NYSE: EURN) shares climbed 17.3% to $17.33. Euronav confirmed that Frontline and CMB NV, are in discussions on an integrated solution to strategic and structural deadlock in Euronav.
- Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: LW) gained 12.2% to $101.54 after the company reported better-than-expected first-quarter financial results.
- VEON Ltd. (NASDAQ: VEON) rose 9.6% to $20.41. VEON said that its Beeline Uzbekistan, its digital operator in Uzbekistan, opened the Beeline Academy in Tashkent to help train IT, AI, cybersecurity and data protection experts.
- Immunovant, Inc. (NASDAQ: IMVT) gained 7.1% to $36.43.
- TransAlta Corporation (NYSE: TAC) rose 6.1% to $8.54.
- Dada Nexus Limited (NASDAQ: DADA) gained 5.8% to $4.2350.
- Live Oak Bancshares, Inc. (NYSE: LOB) surged 5.7% to $28.93. JP Morgan upgraded Live Oak Bancshares from Neutral to Overweight and announced a $40 price target.
- United Natural Foods, Inc. (NYSE: UNFI) gained 5.4% to $13.80.
- Ur-Energy Inc. (NYSE: URG) gained 5.3% to $1.4637.
