Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Chemicals and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI), which rose 3.01% or 0.190 points to trade at 6.510 at the close. Snam (MI:SRG) added 0.20% or 0.010 points to end at 5.020 and Campari (MI:CPRI) was up 0.06% or 0.01 points to 8.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO), which lost 5.18% or 0.2160 points to trade at 3.9540 in late trade. Unicredit (MI:CRDI) declined 4.70% or 0.1300 points to end at 2.6360 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) shed 4.66% or 0.0285 points to 0.5830.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 298 to 99 and 22 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.47% or 0.23 to $48.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $49.87 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 2.47% or 29.90 to trade at $1242.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.70% to 1.1343, while EUR/GBP rose 1.02% to 0.7811.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.57% at 94.06.
