Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which rose 3.29% or 0.57 points to trade at 17.90 at the close. FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) added 3.24% or 0.17 points to end at 5.25 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was up 2.14% or 0.57 points to 27.17 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which lost 1.97% or 0.0045 points to trade at 0.2240 in late trade. UBI Banca (MI:UBI) declined 1.70% or 0.0400 points to end at 2.3100 and Generali (MI:GASI) shed 1.68% or 0.19 points to 11.12.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 219 to 177 and 21 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.38% or 1.07 to $43.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 2.14% or 1.01 to hit $46.09 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.21% or 2.75 to trade at $1326.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1263, while EUR/GBP rose 0.32% to 0.8531.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 95.27.
