Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI), which rose 1.44% or 0.10 points to trade at 7.03 at the close. Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) added 0.76% or 0.16 points to end at 21.26 and Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) was up 0.68% or 0.05 points to 7.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris (MI:TENR), which lost 4.63% or 0.73 points to trade at 15.04 in late trade. Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) declined 4.18% or 0.1620 points to end at 3.7180 and Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) shed 3.19% or 0.1060 points to 3.2150.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 246 to 124 and 18 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 3.29% or 2.20 to $64.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 3.46% or 2.63 to hit $73.31 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.12% or 27.80 to trade at $1280.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1606, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.8742.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 94.81.
