Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI), which rose 2.98% or 0.055 points to trade at 1.890 at the close. Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) added 0.62% or 0.07 points to end at 10.54 and Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) was up 0.58% or 0.020 points to 3.489 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which lost 3.36% or 0.1250 points to trade at 3.6000 in late trade. ENI (MI:ENI) declined 2.13% or 0.31 points to end at 14.32 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) shed 2.08% or 0.074 points to 3.489.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 211 to 137 and 29 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.37% or 0.75 to $53.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.23% or 0.78 to hit $62.70 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1227.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1404, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.8856.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 96.393.
