Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which rose 4.58% or 1.70 points to trade at 38.80 at the close. Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) added 3.64% or 0.65 points to end at 18.53 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was up 2.70% or 0.39 points to 14.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI), which lost 5.75% or 0.122 points to trade at 2.001 in late trade. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) declined 5.30% or 0.0277 points to end at 0.4953 and Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) shed 4.57% or 0.1580 points to 3.2980.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 197 to 172 and 23 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.98% or 1.45 to $74.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.90% or 1.57 to hit $84.30 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 2.60 to trade at $1193.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1574, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8876.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 94.94.
