Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Utilities and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC), which rose 1.76% or 0.11 points to trade at 6.25 at the close. ENI (MI:ENI) added 1.07% or 0.16 points to end at 15.13 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was up 0.83% or 0.100 points to 12.180 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT), which lost 3.69% or 0.41 points to trade at 10.70 in late trade. FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) declined 3.07% or 0.28 points to end at 8.77 and Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) shed 2.70% or 0.210 points to 7.570.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 271 to 89 and 15 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.30% or 0.20 to $67.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.57% or 0.44 to hit $77.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.90% or 11.10 to trade at $1240.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1408, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8888.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 96.12.
