Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which rose 2.15% or 0.58 points to trade at 27.60 at the close. Prysmian (MI:PRY) added 1.66% or 0.28 points to end at 16.82 and Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) was up 1.52% or 0.122 points to 8.142 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT), which lost 6.23% or 0.67 points to trade at 10.09 in late trade. Tenaris (MI:TENR) declined 2.27% or 0.22 points to end at 9.64 and Banca Generali (MI:BGN) shed 1.90% or 0.36 points to 18.57.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 212 to 140 and 27 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 4.78% or 2.40 to $47.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 3.59% or 2.14 to hit $57.47 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 1.30 to trade at $1253.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1367, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8988.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 96.502.
