Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Recordati (MI:RECI), which rose 1.43% or 0.41 points to trade at 29.04 at the close. Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) added 1.35% or 0.108 points to end at 8.126 and FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) was up 1.28% or 0.13 points to 9.96 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which lost 3.62% or 1.42 points to trade at 37.85 in late trade. STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) declined 2.98% or 0.565 points to end at 18.410 and Exor NV (MI:EXOR) shed 2.05% or 1.18 points to 56.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 196 to 160 and 27 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.11% or 0.08 to $74.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.35% or 0.27 to hit $78.03 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 5.50 to trade at $1259.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.1660, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8817.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 94.25.
