Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII), which rose 2.75% or 0.116 points to trade at 4.328 at the close. Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) added 2.07% or 0.054 points to end at 2.662 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) was up 1.07% or 0.28 points to 26.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which lost 1.68% or 0.260 points to trade at 15.210 in late trade. Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) declined 0.99% or 0.028 points to end at 2.790 and Enel (MI:ENEI) shed 0.95% or 0.050 points to 5.190.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 180 to 175 and 24 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.10% or 0.06 to $59.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.23% or 0.15 to hit $65.84 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.40% or 5.20 to trade at $1296.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.1953, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8888.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 92.31.
