Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which rose 2.61% or 0.58 points to trade at 22.80 at the close. STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) added 1.62% or 0.300 points to end at 18.765 and Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) was up 1.55% or 0.048 points to 3.121 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Recordati (MI:RECI), which lost 1.73% or 0.52 points to trade at 29.50 in late trade. Atlantia (MI:ATL) declined 1.48% or 0.38 points to end at 25.30 and Enel (MI:ENEI) shed 1.47% or 0.070 points to 4.700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 206 to 142 and 30 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.52% or 0.32 to $61.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.26% or 0.17 to hit $65.08 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 0.80 to trade at $1330.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.2314, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8832.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 89.84.
