Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Travel & Leisure and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 1.61% or 0.0720 points to trade at 4.5420 at the close. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) added 1.44% or 0.208 points to end at 14.648 and Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) was up 0.82% or 0.021 points to 2.530 in late trade.
Biggest losers included STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which lost 2.74% or 0.525 points to trade at 18.660 in late trade. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) declined 2.55% or 0.97 points to end at 37.07 and Atlantia (MI:ATL) shed 1.66% or 0.43 points to 25.45.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 181 to 167 and 34 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.02% or 1.39 to $70.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.06% or 0.79 to hit $75.55 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.80 to trade at $1221.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.1713, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8918.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 94.10.
