Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which rose 2.38% or 0.051 points to trade at 2.220 at the close. Generali (MI:GASI) added 2.32% or 0.33 points to end at 14.55 and Mediaset (MI:MS) was up 2.08% or 0.058 points to 2.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US), which lost 4.42% or 0.087 points to trade at 1.882 in late trade. Tenaris (MI:TENR) declined 3.25% or 0.52 points to end at 15.35 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) shed 2.52% or 0.094 points to 3.643.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 204 to 158 and 22 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.61% or 1.10 to $67.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.44% or 0.34 to hit $78.06 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1301.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1662, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8774.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 94.09.
