Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 3.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER), which rose 6.10% or 1.36 points to trade at 23.66 at the close. Luxottica Group (MILAN:LUX) added 5.70% or 3.30 points to end at 61.15 and Yoox (MILAN:YOOX) was up 5.15% or 1.33 points to 27.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which lost 0.34% or 0.0250 points to trade at 7.3800 in late trade. Pirelli & C (MILAN:PECI) added 0.13% or 0.0200 points to end at 15.0000 and World Duty Free SpA (MILAN:WDF) gained 0.20% or 0.020 points to 10.240.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 373 to 71 and 4 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.96% or 0.43 to $45.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.03% or 0.01 to hit $48.19 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.76% or 8.80 to trade at $1145.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1193, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.7378.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 96.42.
