Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 2.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII), which rose 6.46% or 0.282 points to trade at 4.648 at the close. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) added 6.07% or 0.560 points to end at 9.790 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) was up 5.31% or 0.204 points to 4.044 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Recordati (MI:RECI), which lost 2.03% or 0.72 points to trade at 34.80 in late trade. Mediaset (MI:MS) declined 0.64% or 0.022 points to end at 3.420 and Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI) shed 0.47% or 0.06 points to 12.75.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 212 to 143 and 11 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.61% or 0.74 to $46.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.35% or 0.66 to hit $49.43 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.53% or 18.97 to trade at $1223.33 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.1360, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8772.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 95.96.
