Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 1.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which rose 6.94% or 0.0194 points to trade at 0.2989 at the close. Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) added 4.67% or 0.140 points to end at 3.140 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) was up 4.63% or 0.73 points to 16.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unicredit (MI:CRDI), which lost 2.89% or 0.0550 points to trade at 1.8510 in late trade. Luxottica Group (MI:LUX) declined 0.44% or 0.19 points to end at 43.06 and Snam (MI:SRG) shed 0.19% or 0.010 points to 5.230.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 281 to 101 and 21 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.21% or 0.55 to $44.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.18% or 0.55 to hit $46.21 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.08% or 1.15 to trade at $1359.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1050, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8517.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.35% at 96.65.
