Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Travel & Leisure and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Exor NV (MI:EXOR), which rose 2.40% or 1.03 points to trade at 43.96 at the close. CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) added 2.23% or 0.185 points to end at 8.470 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) was up 2.21% or 0.53 points to 24.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem (MI:SPMI), which lost 4.24% or 0.0225 points to trade at 0.5080 in late trade. Snam (MI:SRG) declined 1.45% or 0.056 points to end at 3.806 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) shed 1.34% or 0.0380 points to 2.8000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 169 to 163 and 24 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.00% or 0.52 to $51.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.29% or 0.71 to hit $54.23 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.24% or 2.85 to trade at $1187.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.0572, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8689.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 101.89.
