Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Chemicals and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 1.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which rose 5.62% or 0.685 points to trade at 12.865 at the close. Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) added 5.01% or 0.078 points to end at 1.634 and Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) was up 4.41% or 0.144 points to 3.406 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF), which lost 1.85% or 0.180 points to trade at 9.528 in late trade. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) declined 1.42% or 0.43 points to end at 29.80 and Luxottica Group SpA (MI:LUX) shed 0.58% or 0.32 points to 55.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 294 to 77 and 21 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.62% or 0.42 to $67.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.23% or 0.18 to hit $77.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.50 to trade at $1231.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1382, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8893.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 96.41.
