Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.02% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI), which rose 6.70% or 0.236 points to trade at 3.756 at the close. Exor NV (MI:EXOR) added 4.18% or 2.15 points to end at 53.55 and FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) was up 3.67% or 0.26 points to 7.21 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris (MI:TENR), which lost 0.09% or 0.01 points to trade at 11.59 in late trade. Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) declined 0.07% or 0.010 points to end at 14.710 and Italgas SpA (MI:IG) gained 0.29% or 0.01 points to 4.77.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 282 to 91 and 10 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.45% or 0.69 to $48.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $53.79 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.01% or 13.69 to trade at $1337.51 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.1963, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.9076.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 91.83.
