Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.98%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 2.44% or 0.080 points to trade at 3.354 at the close. A2A (MI:A2) added 2.13% or 0.035 points to end at 1.674 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) was up 2.03% or 0.388 points to 19.532 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Generali (MI:BGN), which lost 0.59% or 0.16 points to trade at 26.84 in late trade. FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) declined 0.59% or 0.06 points to end at 9.85 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) shed 0.57% or 0.14 points to 24.36.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 197 to 130 and 38 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.09% or 0.06 to $67.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.55% or 0.41 to hit $74.41 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.33% or 4.30 to trade at $1318.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.2117, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8701.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 91.29.
