Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.52% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI), which rose 4.35% or 0.1740 points to trade at 4.1760 at the close. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) added 4.17% or 1.26 points to end at 31.45 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) was up 2.12% or 0.48 points to 23.13 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris (MI:TENR), which lost 1.24% or 0.15 points to trade at 11.96 in late trade. Luxottica Group (MI:LUX) declined 0.95% or 0.45 points to end at 47.15 and Terna (MI:TRN) shed 0.88% or 0.044 points to 4.942.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 211 to 156 and 14 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.16% or 0.08 to $50.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $56.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.44% or 18.97 to trade at $1297.43 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1934, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8801.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 92.01.
