Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII), which rose 8.26% or 0.374 points to trade at 4.904 at the close. Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) added 5.89% or 0.1890 points to end at 3.4000 and Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) was up 3.50% or 0.1420 points to 4.1980 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC), which lost 2.31% or 0.17 points to trade at 7.10 in late trade. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) declined 1.95% or 0.372 points to end at 18.744 and Snam (MI:SRG) shed 1.63% or 0.064 points to 3.867.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 199 to 153 and 37 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.20% or 2.21 to $71.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 3.17% or 2.37 to hit $77.22 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.40 to trade at $1312.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1849, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8741.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 92.92.
