Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Travel & Leisure and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT), which rose 4.99% or 0.0312 points to trade at 0.6560 at the close. Mediaset (MI:MS) added 3.21% or 0.090 points to end at 2.890 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) was up 2.35% or 0.45 points to 19.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ferrari NV (MI:RACE), which lost 1.48% or 1.70 points to trade at 113.00 in late trade. Banca Generali (MI:BGN) declined 1.38% or 0.32 points to end at 22.80 and Recordati (MI:RECI) shed 1.11% or 0.35 points to 31.11.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 242 to 124 and 27 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.60% or 0.42 to $69.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $74.53 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1225.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1654, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8891.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 94.47.
