Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Technology and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 4.60% or 0.1580 points to trade at 3.5920 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 2.36% or 0.27 points to end at 11.69 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was up 2.26% or 0.450 points to 20.360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Italgas SpA (MI:IG), which lost 2.52% or 0.130 points to trade at 5.030 in late trade. UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) declined 1.18% or 0.2000 points to end at 16.7100 and Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) shed 1.07% or 0.160 points to 14.740.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 207 to 166 and 14 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.22% or 0.12 to $54.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.08% or 0.05 to hit $60.18 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.54% or 6.93 to trade at $1278.73 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.1637, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.8809.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 94.44.
