Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which rose 4.00% or 0.515 points to trade at 13.400 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 2.98% or 0.38 points to end at 13.13 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) was up 2.88% or 0.47 points to 16.98 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Recordati (MI:RECI), which lost 3.27% or 1.01 points to trade at 29.92 in late trade. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) declined 2.20% or 0.302 points to end at 13.450 and Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (MI:ISP) shed 1.96% or 0.039 points to 1.953.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 239 to 112 and 23 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.04 to $66.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.20% or 0.15 to hit $76.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 6.00 to trade at $1216.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1318, while EUR/GBP fell 0.63% to 0.8872.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 96.87.
