Investing.com – Hipgnosis Songs Fund has acquired a catalogue of music from Andrew Wotman, better known as Watt or Andrew Watt. The music producer has recently been awarded the 2021 Grammy winner for ‘Producer of the Year’ following collaborations with artists such as Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa and Post Malone.
Watt has co-written five of the top 100 most streamed songs, including Senorita by Shawn Mendes and Havana by Camila Cabello.
Other artists that Watt has written songs for include Justin Bieber, 5 Seconds of Summer, Selena Gomez, Marshmello, Post Malone, Ozzy Osbourne, Avicii, and Rita Ora.
“It is amazing to be welcoming Watt to the Hipgnosis Family just as he has been awarded the ‘Producer Of The Year’ Grammy for his work with Miley Cyrus, Post Malone et al, and as he has been Number 1 all over the world with Justin Bieber,” said Hipgnosis Songs Fund (LON:SONG) founder Merck Mercuriadis.
Watt began his career as a guitarist for artists such as Justin Bieber and his relationship with the Canadian singer acted as a catalyst to begin writing and producing with Bieber and other artists.
Although not included in the current catalogue, Hipgnosis has a Matching Right on future songs written by Watt.

The catalogue includes 105 songs that have a combined 135 number 1s between them. In 2019, the total revenue from the catalogue was $4.338mln.
At 10:40BST, the Hipgnosis Songs Fund was trading higher by 0.4% at 122.50 pence.
