Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Travel sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 4.96% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr), which rose 0.67% or 0.13 points to trade at 19.41 at the close. Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) added 0.47% or 0.11 points to end at 23.75 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.779 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which lost 14.56% or 0.11 points to trade at 0.63 in late trade. Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) declined 13.96% or 0.073 points to end at 0.450 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) shed 12.24% or 0.018 points to 0.129.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.53% or 6.20 to $1169.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.09% or 0.05 to hit $58.05 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $62.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.06% to 1.1118, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.7288.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.00% at 96.44.
