Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 3.33% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which rose 8.93% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.122 at the close. Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) added 3.81% or 0.008 points to end at 0.218 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 2.80% or 0.006 points to 0.220 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ellaktor (AT:HELr), which lost 12.88% or 0.210 points to trade at 1.420 in late trade. Public Power (AT:DEHr) declined 11.34% or 0.55 points to end at 4.30 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) shed 10.56% or 0.49 points to 4.15.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 63 to 16 on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.40% or 4.80 to $1198.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.31% or 0.18 to hit $57.70 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.48 to trade at $62.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.0756, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.7200.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 98.02.
