Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Travel and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 1.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 10.00% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.143 at the close. Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) added 4.48% or 0.210 points to end at 4.900 and Reds (AT:CAMr) was up 2.89% or 0.009 points to 0.320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr), which lost 5.39% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.580 in late trade. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 5.00% or 0.01 points to end at 0.19 and Intralot (AT:INLr) shed 4.69% or 0.060 points to 1.220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 58 to 39 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.41% or 5.20 to $1259.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.06% or 0.53 to hit $49.65 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.06% or 0.55 to trade at $51.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.26% to 1.1039, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.9046.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 97.68.
