Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Household, Construction and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 17.39% or 0.028 points to trade at 0.190 at the close. Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) added 6.58% or 0.100 points to end at 1.620 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was up 2.16% or 0.030 points to 1.420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr), which lost 5.77% or 0.0540 points to trade at 0.8800 in late trade. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 5.19% or 0.040 points to end at 0.730 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 5.11% or 0.007 points to 0.130.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 59 to 39 and 10 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.78% or 9.90 to $1272.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.82% or 0.42 to hit $50.81 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.67% or 0.35 to trade at $52.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.1336, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.7832.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 93.90.
