Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Utilities and Household sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 2.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 8.28% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.157 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 6.12% or 0.006 points to end at 0.104 and Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr) was up 6.02% or 0.008 points to 0.141 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 8.11% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.1360 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 7.91% or 0.017 points to end at 0.198 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) shed 7.69% or 0.02 points to 0.24.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 38 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.36% or 4.05 to $1141.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.43% or 0.23 to hit $52.72 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.82% or 0.45 to trade at $54.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.0438, while EUR/GBP rose 0.56% to 0.8413.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 102.80.
