Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 1.40% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which rose 3.53% or 0.034 points to trade at 0.998 at the close. Iaso (AT:IASr) added 3.05% or 0.040 points to end at 1.350 and Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) was up 2.11% or 0.30 points to 14.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which lost 6.92% or 0.4500 points to trade at 6.0500 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 6.16% or 0.236 points to end at 3.594 and Select Textile (AT:EPIr) shed 5.00% or 0.012 points to 0.228.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 77 to 42 and 8 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.27% or 3.50 to $1315.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.27% or 1.39 to hit $59.76 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.18% or 1.41 to trade at $63.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.2239, while EUR/GBP rose 0.72% to 0.8865.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 90.31.
