Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Banking and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Hygeia (AT:HYGr), which rose 8.31% or 0.056 points to trade at 0.730 at the close. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) added 7.09% or 0.010 points to end at 0.151 and AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) was up 2.88% or 0.060 points to 2.140 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which lost 6.99% or 0.232 points to trade at 3.088 in late trade. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 6.71% or 0.100 points to end at 1.390 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) shed 4.31% or 0.0090 points to 0.2000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 78 to 28 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.51% or 6.70 to $1319.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.56% or 0.35 to hit $62.06 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.21 to trade at $66.00 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.2332, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 89.47.
