Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Food and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 9.25% or 0.0210 points to trade at 0.2490 at the close. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) added 4.65% or 0.004 points to end at 0.090 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 3.82% or 0.006 points to 0.163 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr), which lost 2.44% or 0.20 points to trade at 7.98 in late trade. Halcor (AT:XAKO) declined 1.79% or 0.017 points to end at 0.933 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) shed 1.76% or 0.120 points to 6.690.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 48 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.10% or 1.36 to $1345.86 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.03% or 0.50 to hit $49.16 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.22% or 0.65 to trade at $54.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1942, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.9139.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 92.01.
