Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Food and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Kleeman Hellas (AT:KLEr), which rose 30.32% or 0.470 points to trade at 2.020 at the close. Reds (AT:CAMr) added 10.00% or 0.031 points to end at 0.341 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) was up 7.80% or 0.0110 points to 0.1520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 8.02% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.149 in late trade. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 4.20% or 0.005 points to end at 0.117 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) shed 2.70% or 0.019 points to 0.685.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 70 to 31 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.89% or 11.85 to $1343.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.21% or 1.00 to hit $46.34 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.69% or 0.79 to trade at $47.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1242, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8579.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 95.08.
