Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Media, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.58% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which rose 14.02% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.122 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 7.98% or 0.017 points to end at 0.230 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 6.62% or 0.059 points to 0.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Titan Cement Company SA (AT:TTNr), which lost 4.61% or 1.220 points to trade at 25.250 in late trade. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) declined 4.41% or 0.006 points to end at 0.130 and Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr) shed 1.86% or 0.17 points to 8.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 55 to 48 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.24% or 3.04 to $1265.86 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.76% or 0.35 to hit $45.73 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.56% or 0.27 to trade at $48.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1207, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.8803.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 97.00.
