Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Chemicals and Household sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Intracom Hold (AT:INRr), which rose 12.58% or 0.039 points to trade at 0.349 at the close. Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) added 9.38% or 0.030 points to end at 0.350 and Korres (AT:KRRr) was up 7.00% or 0.240 points to 3.670 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 9.52% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.095 in late trade. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) declined 8.81% or 0.014 points to end at 0.145 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) shed 1.09% or 0.002 points to 0.181.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 68 to 33 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.11% or 1.35 to $1227.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.96% or 0.51 to hit $53.44 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.22% or 0.68 to trade at $56.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.0576, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8484.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 101.25.
