Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Banking and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.59% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 5.36% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.295 at the close. Korres (AT:KRRr) added 4.24% or 0.14 points to end at 3.44 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 3.92% or 0.004 points to 0.106 in late trade.
Biggest losers included A.S. Company (AT:ASCr), which lost 7.56% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.330 in late trade. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 4.08% or 0.006 points to end at 0.141 and Iaso (AT:IASr) shed 4.04% or 0.021 points to 0.499.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 42 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 2.04% or 26.35 to $1267.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.24% or 1.00 to hit $43.66 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.13% or 1.42 to trade at $43.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1402, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.7920.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 94.05.
