Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Travel and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Iaso (AT:IASr), which rose 4.84% or 0.024 points to trade at 0.520 at the close. Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) added 4.68% or 0.02 points to end at 0.49 and Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) was up 3.40% or 0.220 points to 6.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 4.67% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.102 in late trade. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 3.92% or 0.006 points to end at 0.147 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) shed 2.86% or 0.03 points to 1.02.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 28 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 1.54% or 19.55 to $1291.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.38% or 0.17 to hit $44.49 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.15 to trade at $45.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1418, while EUR/GBP rose 0.47% to 0.7911.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 93.70.
