Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.99% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 10.02% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.145 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) added 9.41% or 0.160 points to end at 1.860 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) was up 8.42% or 0.0160 points to 0.2100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which lost 7.59% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.036 in late trade. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) declined 2.08% or 0.060 points to end at 2.820 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 1.96% or 0.003 points to 0.150.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 89 to 32 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.04% or 0.50 to $1319.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.45% or 0.28 to hit $61.91 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $67.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.42% to 1.2067, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8906.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 91.65.
