Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Household and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 9.83% or 0.170 points to trade at 1.900 at the close. Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) added 8.43% or 0.076 points to end at 0.978 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) was up 6.61% or 0.0150 points to 0.2420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Intracom Hold (AT:INRr), which lost 1.61% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.917 in late trade. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 1.54% or 0.006 points to end at 0.384 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) shed 1.39% or 0.100 points to 7.100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 75 to 47 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.22% or 2.90 to $1346.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.00% or 0.65 to hit $65.38 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.36 to trade at $69.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.2484, while EUR/GBP rose 0.30% to 0.8773.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 88.62.
