Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Resources and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which rose 3.04% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.237 at the close. Athens Water (AT:EYDr) added 2.93% or 0.17 points to end at 5.97 and Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) was up 2.89% or 0.55 points to 19.61 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 9.74% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.176 in late trade. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 5.63% or 0.080 points to end at 1.340 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) shed 3.03% or 0.050 points to 1.600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 57 to 48 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.32% or 4.10 to $1276.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $51.92 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.07 to trade at $57.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1762, while EUR/GBP rose 0.70% to 0.8964.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 93.81.
